The SS Explorer Preservation Society are an extremely active society. When not trying to restore the Explorer and keep alive the memory of the men who have sailed on her we actively try to raise funds for the restoration process, run tours of the ship and actively promote knowledge about the SS Explorer in the wider community.
The society has a constitution and is a rigesters Scottish Charity. Within this framework a Company Limited by Guarantee (Registered in scotland No 156992) has been formed responsible for the restoration project and managment of the society through a board of approved directors. Sub-commitees concerned with specific areas of refurbishment or upgrading are appointed and directed by the board as and when required.
