Leith Model Lodging House.

Just off Henderson Street, on Parliament Street, is another example of Simpson’s work: a Model Lodging House, which was built in 1893 with the aim of providing cheap, clean, overnight accommodation to transient workers in the area. It is still used to provide temporary accommodation by Canmore Housing Association (ii). A plaque above the door of this substantial building commemorates its purpose and those involved in its erection. The Model Lodging House has been C Listed since 1995.[16] Numbers 59—61 Henderson Street are also attributed to Simpson
