Lord Balmerino

26 May 1639.—Ordaines the neighbours to be conveined on Sonday nixt for chusing of Commissioners to goe to my Lord Balmirrinoch.
(Note.—In 1609, after the Gowrie Conspiracy, King James bestowed the estates of Logan of Restalrig upon Lord Balmerino along with the patronage of the first charge. Balmerino House stood at the corner of Coatfield Lane in the Kirkgate. The greater part of it was demolished three years ago to make room for the new Roman Catholic School.
