Black Death backtrack: Don’t blame the rats, the plague was ‘spread by PEOPLE’

As any school child will know, the Black Death that killed half of Europe’s population in the early Middle Ages was caused by plague-spreading rats. But now an eminent archaeologist, has cast doubt on this historical ‘truth’ in a book set to exonerate the animal villains. Barney Sloane, 49, author of The Black Death in London, has found some major flaws in the theory that England was hit by a bubonic plague spread by flea-infested rodents. for more click here
