A note about the Aitken Family

Dear John

Just a short note to thank you for your response to my belated email. Two papers enclosed: Family Tree and the article from Montrose Review as a result of my visit to King’s Lynn. There are also paintings in the Town Hall in Tallin, Estonia by a Lubeck artist Johann Aken. A John Aitken acquired a Burgess Ticket in Montrose in the 1680s for 20 merks, I think – cash for Honours?
In the late 1800s a seafarer named John Aitken belonging to Perth, sailed on the Dundee ship Covenanter, 550 tons and owned by James Allison of Dundee. He arrived in India and went ashore while on leave- and never returned to the vessel! – according to the “Perthshire Advertiser” bi- weekly newspaper.
Yours sincerely,
John Aitken
