MY great-grandfather, Donald Johnson, was born in Shetland, 1835. During his lifetime he married three times and fathered 13 children.
Around 1865 he left Shetland with first wife Ann Mathieson and settled for a time in Leith, Scotland where they had a son William, born in 1867. Donald’s first wife died in Leith as did his second wife along with a number of their children. for more click here
