1586-1587, letters from Queen Elizabeth I to Mary,Queen of Scots

The first letter was sent to Mary, queen of Scots at the opening of her trial at Fotheringhay on 12 October 1586. It was written in French.

Four days after Mary’s execution, Elizabeth sent the second letter to Mary’s son, King James VI of Scotland. In it, she asserts her innocence in his mother’s death. for more click here
