Paintings show royal ring that was lost to history

An intricate gold and enamel ring belonging to Mary, Queen of Scots which bore the mark of her second husband, must once have been highly prized.

But the tragic queen – who was eventually executed by her cousin Elizabeth I – gave it away to a Scottish earl in what experts believe was a bid to win support for her controversial marriage to her cousin Lord Darnley. for more click here
