Walter to the rescue of local history society

IT LOOKED like curtains for a local history society when, back at its AGM in May, no member was prepared to stand as an office bearer.

“We effectively folded when no-one came forward,” recalled Ian Brown, who stood down as president of Selkirkshire Antiquarian Society at that fateful meeting.
