Musings on medicine are a powerful body of work

KNOWLEDGE is to be found in books. The internet, for all its marvels, would be nothing without the books that underpin it. But what is in the books? Words, obviously. As our civilisation is built on books, so we believe it is literary, built on words. By that account, art may be important, but it is not fundamental to knowledge, as words are. A major exhibition at the Edinburgh City Art Centre questions that assumption and in an area of our knowledge that is not only central to our civilisation, but also the one that affects our very lives most intimately – anatomy: the understanding of how our bodies function, on which all medicine is built. for more click here
