No plans to mark Acts of Union

One of Scotland’s leading historians has criticised the Scottish Executive’s “clandestine” approach to the union of parliaments’ anniversary next year, and has called for greater emphasis on the event in schools.
Edinburgh University professor and best-selling author Tom Devine said the lack of any visible plans to mark the union’s 300th anniversary next May could mean a missed opportunity to examine a “fundamental moment in the development of the nation”. for more click here
